What can a pencil be used to talk about? This project began as a meticulous formal investigation of a pencil—but quickly expanded into a visual reflection on Canada’s housing crisis. Through pencil rubbings, photography, and collage, I used the object as a metaphor for pressure and erasure—highlighting the tensions and inequities embedded in labour industries, immigration, and housing. Featured in OCAD University’s April 2025 Hot Mess exhibition.
