2" × 3.5" | 140lb (300gsm) Watercolour Paper | Inkjet Printed Hallows is a Toronto-based fashion brand with a growing line of artisanal perfumes. After visiting their store and purchasing a few fragrances, I noticed a missed opportunity: while scent strips and ingredients were available in-store, there was no way for customers to take that information home. Once I left, I couldn’t recall the unique compositions of each scent—and I realized others might feel the same. As a designer focused on publication and print, I saw an opening to elevate the customer experience through tactile design. I created a series of fragrance cards that list the top, heart, and base notes of each perfume. Printed on thick, absorbent 300gsm watercolor paper, the cards are designed to reflect the refined and luxurious identity of the brand through understated typography and rich, tactile materials. This project shows how I approach design—not just as a visual discipline, but as a way of identifying real gaps and solving them through form and material. Every element was produced in-house using my Epson ET-5800 inkjet printer and precision trimmer without outsourcing to traditional print shops. On the reverse of each card, I included a subtle brand touchpoint: a thank-you message and incentive for customers to share the product on social media in exchange for a discount. The result is a piece that carries both emotional and practical value—designed to stay in customers’ hands and minds long after they leave the store.
